In the Sydney Morning Herald yesterday Kristen Le Mesurier laments the lask of innovation by the Australian Government compared to their Japanese conterpoints. Perhaps with a change on government this will change. My suspicion will be that it will not. Innovation and creativity generally requires a diversity of perspectives which this new government does not have. Innovation also requires permission to try new things and occasionally fail which the new leader Kevin Rudd will not allow to happen. It also most importantly requires leadership. Someone, somewhere has to fight for, value and protect ideas. I have not seen much evidence of this is our new band of leaders. I hope i am wrong.
