Shake up your Thinking with Dr Ken Hudson

Train your brain

Just finished reading Dr. Kawashima’s book on Train your Brain. He is a brain reseacher that postulates that as we mature our brain function starts to deteriorate. But there is good news! We can all improve by daily stimulation of our brain. In particular the prefrontal cortex which is the area for learning and thinking. He suggest we can do this effectively by solving simple calculations quickly and reading out aloud (two of the most prominant activities). His work coincides with my work in creative thinking. I have found that people can be incredibly imaginative when you do not give them too much time. They tend to just blurt out their ideas without their oen self-filter being brought into play. Try it next time you are faced with an issue. Write down nine different ideas in the next two minutes and see what happens. This type of thinking is the basis of my next book called The Idea Accelerator due out mid next year.

    Hi Ken

There is a game designed to train your brain and is marketed at senior people so they don’t suffer from dementia or other old age related illness. I can’t remember what the game is called.
